Tell Your MP To Support Energy East

A friendly reminder to get members / office staff / neighbours, etc. to e-mail their MP in regards to Energy East. Let’s hit them with as many people as possible from all over the province.

The link below is easy and takes less than 2 minutes to complete.

The Energy East pipeline project is in danger of being cancelled.

Energy East is a nation-building infrastructure project. It will create jobs and prosperity for middle-class Canadians. It will also get our energy resources to people around the world who in a recent survey, said if they had a choice, would pick oil and natural gas developed the Canadian way.

But the National Energy Board (NEB) has imposed another review on this critical pipeline project in what seems to be a never-ending regulatory process that threatens to keep Canadian energy infrastructure projects in eternal limbo.

We need to act NOW – send your MP a letter and tell them this project is good for Canada.

We only have 30 days to get our decision-makers to let the NEB know we don’t need another review and more delays.  That’s the length of time requested by TransCanada as it makes a decision on the future of Energy East.

As Energy Citizens, let’s stand up for jobs, billions of dollars for the Canadian economy, and oil and gas developed the Canadian way.

Please take two minutes to send a letter in support of the Energy East project.

Thank you.

Do you want to attend the 2017 National Apprenticeship Competition and ACRC Picnic in Charlottetown?

If so, the Atlantic Canada Regional Council is holding a contest where you and a guest can win travel, accommodation, and a meal stipend to attend the 2017 NAC and participate in the ACRC Olde Tyme Union Picnic on August 26, 2017.

Here’s how it works: For every union meeting you attend (all regions) and program you participate in (Journeyman Leadership, Site Organizer, assisting union campaigns, etc.) you will earn one ballot in the draw. The more you participate, the more ballots you earn!

In addition, any member who filled out the recent ACRC Membership Survey will automatically get one ballot in the contest.

To help make the day a success, we ask for a minimum volunteer commitment of four hours from each winner to assist with set up / tear down, event support, and other duties as assigned.

Up to forty (40) draws will take place across Atlantic Canada, proportional to membership numbers in each region.

Deadline for all ballots to be received is Thursday, June 15, 2017.
