The Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers is proud to join our Brothers and Sisters from the Millwrights Regional Council of Ontario and the B.C. Pile Drivers to help those in need in Fort McMurray, Alta. Together, we have contributed a total of $203,000 for the Building Trades of Alberta’s “Rebuild Fort McMurray” relief program.

ACRC and affiliate locals donate $133,000 to help Fort McMurray
Yesterday, the ACRC and its affiliate locals donated $133,000 to help fellow Brothers and Sisters affected by the wildfire in Fort McMurray. We would like to thank all of the volunteers and organizations that are helping with relief efforts and helping to distribute much-needed resources.

Local 579 honoured for commitment to Heart and Stroke Foundation
The Heart and Stroke Foundation recently recognized Local 579 for their exceptional commitment to the Foundation for the past two years. In a special ceremony at Government House on April 27, 2016, the Foundation invited the ACRC to join its Caring Hearts Circle as a result of donations made to better the lives of people affected by heart disease and stroke.

Local 83 hosting fundraiser for sick member
Dan MacArthur, a 17-year member of Local 83 and executive member for more than 10 years, was recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. His prognosis is serious, and he requires a double lung transplant to live.
