Local 1338 Reorganization

 As a result of a change in leadership, the ACRC is restructuring its PEI office to provide better value for Local 1338 members. Farrel Huculak is no longer employed as a business representative / organizer with the Council. Labour Day

General ACRC ad for Labour DayOn September 5, the Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights & Allied Workers wishes to recognize the achievements of our members and workers everywhere to improve the communities in which they live. Labour Day is a time to honour the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well being of our country.

Please note ACRC offices will be closed on Labour Day Monday, reopening on Tuesday, September 6.

Astaldi is seeking journeypersons and apprentices who are experienced in Doka / Peri formwork and comfortable with climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working at heights of 150’+ to work on the Muskrat Falls project in NL. Energy East Pipeline – Thank you for your support!

Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who attended the rallies held in Saint John and Fredericton in support of the Energy East Pipeline! This is an important project for the province as it would provide opportunities at home for tradespeople in New Brunswick and stimulate growth in the local economy.

On Monday, August 8, 2016, hearings for the Energy East Pipeline will be held at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre (1 Market Square, Saint John, NB).

The New Brunswick Building Trades is asking all Union members to attend to show their support for this much needed construction project. We ask that you arrive at 7 a.m. to ensure that supporters get in before the room is taken up by protesters of the project.

The hearings are open to the public, and family and friends are encouraged to attend. Let’s show the hearing committee and the government that this is an important project for the province.

On Monday, August 15, 2016, a one-day rally for the Energy East Pipeline will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fredericton, NB (659 Queen St). If you are interested in attending and showing your support, please meet at the Crowne Plaza at 7:30 a.m.

The Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers is celebrating its 5th anniversary as a Regional Council in 2016. And we want you to celebrate with us!

Join us on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Halifax Common (corner nearest the Atlantica Hotel) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a union awareness event with food, prizes, and skills demonstrations!
